Travel without a Passport | Exploring Chicago's Ukrainian Village Bus Trip

ClassGraphic Ukrainian Village is one of Chicago’s most historic neighborhoods, it derives its name from the large population of Ukrainian immigrants who first settled here in the 1890s. Originally a farming community, it has transformed into a vibrant, trendy, neighborhood rich in history and offering a wealth of cultural, food and arts destinations. About 75 percent of the neighborhood is designated as a Chicago landmark district, meaning that its deep roots and history are among the most well-preserved in all of Chicagoland. Ukrainian Village is home to several truly stunning and historic churches.

We will start at St. Volodymyr and Olha Church with a guided tour. View the mosaic art, ornate dome and stained glass utilized in Orthodox architecture. We will also visit the Ukrainian National Museum of Chicago which is home to a permanent folk-art collection including festive, formal and ritual clothing, embroidered and woven textiles, ceramics, metal and wood objects and an extensive collection of Ukrainian fine art. Enjoy an included family style lunch featuring European cuisine and recipes from the old country. This afternoon we will visit the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art before ending the day with a stop a neighborhood bakery and deli before we head back to the Illinois Valley.

If you cancel after 7 days and we have a waiting list and can replace you, you will receive a refund, minus a $20 processing fee. The processing fee is per person. Substitution of passengers is allowed if you have someone else who would like to participate in the trip in your place.
