Discover the delicate art of sculpting lifelike blooms in this beginner-friendly workshop. Guided by IVCC art instructor, Julie Jenkins, you will learn to work with clay to shape graceful petals, leaves and floral forms. Through hands-on instruction, you will explore techniques for building texture, movement and natural elegance into your designs while expressing your own creative style. After your flowers have dried, you will return for a glazing session to add color and personality to your finished piece before it is kiln-fired by the instructor. If you’re unable to attend the glazing day, simply select your preferred colors and the instructor will glaze your work for you. Completed projects will be available for pick-up at IVCC. Perfect for beginners, this class offers step-by-step guidance, skill-building, and a beautiful handmade keepsake you will be proud to display.

Class meets: June 8 & 9 from 5-7 PM each day and June 23 from 5-6 PM to glaze your piece before it is fired.

There are two options to register for class, choose a 3-session class to make a simple flower or a 5-session class to make a more complex flower.

3-Session: Simple Flower Examples:
Simple flower options include a Tulip, Pansy, Poppy, Lily, Plumeria, Forget-Me-Not, Hibiscus. We recommend that you bring a photo of the flower you would like to make in class so that you have a point of reference to work from.
