This is the first module of a five-part Industrial Electrician Certificate offered in a Competency-Based education format. This approach allows students to progress at their own pace by demonstrating their skills and knowledge, making it ideal for those with prior experience to earn credentials.

Topics include: Study of electricity from its basic nature through resistive circuits. Covers AC and DC voltages applied in electrical systems. Emphasizes practical applications of electrical concepts. Integrates necessary mathematics for understanding electrical systems. Introduces industry-required safety practices. Focus is placed on NEC regulations, local codes (where applicable), and 70 E safety standards.

Notice

Please read:  Each module blends online instruction with required lab-based skill demonstrations. Learners progress by mastering competencies, not seat time. Each module can be completed in 12 weeks or less. Start any module on any day of the month beginning August 14th, and attend lab at times that work for you. Earn micro-credentials along the way, and once modules are completed, you’ll be eligible for credit for prior learning. Students are not required to complete all five modules.
