Discover the art and science of sourdough in this two-session, hands-on intensive class! You’ll learn the essentials of crafting a beautiful sourdough loaf from start to finish - no prior experience required. On day one, we’ll cover the equipment required (or desired), ingredients, and how to start and care for a starter culture. You’ll mix your first dough while learning about baker’s math, formulas, and processes, then chill the dough overnight. On day two, we’ll cover feeding and maintaining your starter, baking and scoring methods, and we will discuss the crust and crumb of our baked breads. We’ll bake some of the dough in class so you can see and taste the results. Each student will receive dried starter on the first day and take-home part of their baked loaf or dough to bake off at home on the second. Come ready to get your hands floury and leave with the skills, knowledge and starter to keep your sourdough journey going!

There is a $50 material fee payable to the instructor on the night of class. Students will take home dried starter, and a beginners kit that includes the tools and equipment needed to continue making sourdough at home.
