Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)


 
Dept. of Transportation Required Hazardous Material Training (4 hours)
 The Department of Transportation requires training for employees receiving or shipping hazardous materials. This training includes 49 CFR hazardous materials table, packaging of materials, shipping papers and other documentation, and recognizing potential hazardous conditions when receiving packages. Participants are encouraged to bring list of products they ship or receive and samples of shipping papers.

This DOT final rule requires HAZMAT employers to develop security plans by September 2003 and training on security plans by December 2003.


Resource Conservation and Recovery Act -RCRA 
The Environmental Protection Agency developed the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), to manage hazardous waste.  This training program will cover the law, regulations and guidance in complying with the ACT. Topics include waste generator status, used vs. waste and recycling.
EPAs’ RCRA Orientation Manual will be the text for this class.
