Get ready to explore traditional recipes from three different countries. Learn the two-step process to make Birria Tacos an authentic Mexican dish. Birria originated in the state of Jalisco. The dish is traditionally made with goat meat, but for class we will use beef. Ropa Vieja is considered the soul food of Cuba. Consisting of stewed meat and vegetables, we will make a flavor-packed sandwich version. Next, we will learn the technique to make a beloved Mesoamerican dish, tamales! Step-by-step you will learn how to create tamales. We will discuss the variety of filling options. Chef Sara will also demonstrate a cocktail that can be paired with these recipes for a dinner party. Hands-on culinary classes are limited to eight students.
