This class will provide a comprehensive review of various settings and reasons for basic chair massage therapy. Positional variations for seated massage therapy including: the massage table, various types of massage chairs, and mobile seated massage products will be covered. Reasons for modifications to accommodate clients who are unable to lie flat on a massage table include: vertigo, post-surgery, digestive ailments, anxiety, PTSD, pregnancy, pain, acute injury, lymphatic restrictions, and personal preference. Specific considerations regarding marketing bodywork and mobile chair massage business information will be discussed to ensure successful and safe seated bodywork. Draping and disrobing guidelines will be demonstrated and practiced, along with a full seated progression of foundation and specific techniques.
