Behind every powerful woman are more powerful women. Step into the stories of women who have shaped history and continue to inspire change as we head to Chicago for the day. Begin with a guided visit and tour of Jane Addams’ Hull-House, a National Historic Landmark and the former home of the Nobel Peace Prize - winning social reformer and suffragette whose work advanced social justice, education and women’s rights. Enjoy an included dinner at Tuscany on Taylor Street, known for its warm atmosphere and classic Italian cuisine, before heading to the theater for an unforgettable Broadway experience. This evening we will head to the CIBC Theatre to attend the performance of SUFFS, the acclaimed, Tony Award®-winning musical that brings to life the brilliant, passionate and determined American women known as suffragettes. SUFFS tells the story of the final push to achieve the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote in 1920. Created by Shaina Taub - who made history as the first woman to independently win Tony Awards for both Best Book and Best Score in the same season - this powerful production is equal parts inspiring, moving and entertaining. Hailed by critics as “thrilling” and “dazzlingly entertaining,” SUFFS explores a fight for equality that still resonates today.
Lunch is not included today. You are welcome to bring a sack lunch with you on the bus. Refreshments will also be served enroute to Chicago.
