This presentation is the first of two evenings highlighting industrial powerhouses that shaped LaSalle County’s economic and cultural landscape. David Reed from the Streatorland Museum, will discuss LaSalle County’s coal mining industry, which fueled regional development and powered progress. Then learn about the legacy of the M & H Zinc Company, whose innovative zinc production put LaSalle County on the map as a center of industry and intellectual life.
