Enjoy an autumn day in Wisconsin's Little Switzerland. We'll visit the quaint villages of Monroe and New Glarus in Green County to learn about the Swiss immigration and heritage beginning in the 1840's. Highlights of the tour will be a visit to the Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum - a personal collection of Swiss treasures in a beautiful Chalet; a Swiss lunch at Chalet Landhaus; free time to explore the unique shops on Main Street including bakery, chocolate, cheese, wine, and European gifts; New Glarus beer sample at Historic Puempel's Olde Tavern; the stunning Green County Courthouse; Alp & Dell Cheese Store in one of the largest cheese producing areas of the country; and perhaps a yodeling challenge! Note: Although we will not be going to the New Glarus Brewery, you will have an opportunity to buy this popular Wisconsin beer!
