This is the fifth module of a seven-part Industrial Electrician Certificate offered in a Competency-Based education format. This approach allows students to progress at their own pace by demonstrating their skills and knowledge, making it ideal for those with prior experience to earn credentials.
Topics covered include: electronic sensor applications and selection, NPN/PNP outputs, sinking and sourcing signals, and opto-isolation. Connecting, testing, and adjusting inductive, capacitive, magnetic reed, hall-effect, and photoelectric sensors. Interpreting basic electrical ladder schematics and control logic, electro-pneumatic circuits, and relay-controlled motor and sequence circuits. Integration of electronic sensors into relay control systems, in-circuit testing, identification of component faults, and troubleshooting of sensor and relay sequence circuits.
