ELDT for School Bus Endorsement

In addition to the separate Behind-the-Wheel Training required to obtain the School Bus (S) Endorsement, this online training is a crucial step in obtaining a School Bus Endorsement (S) on your current Commercial Driver's License (CDL). It covers critical aspects such as the regulatory framework for school transportation, pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and licensing requirements, all aimed at enhancing student safety.

You will learn essential safety measures related to school bus operations, including danger zones and proper use of mirrors, as well as gain insights into loading and unloading procedures, and hazard awareness. Student management techniques are also covered in this S Endorsement course, so that you are equipped to maintain order and manage distractions effectively. To ensure the safety and well-being of your students, you will also learn emergency evacuation methods and how to respond to security threats.

State Compliance Requirements

Online Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) courses do not meet state requirements in Virginia or Washington. If you reside in either state, this online course will not be accepted by state authorities and cannot be used to fulfill ELDT training requirements. Learners in these states must complete an approved in-person program to satisfy compliance standards.
