« back to classes page
Explore local waters from a fish's point of view. Check out artificial and live baits, tie your own lure and learn basic knot tying. Learn about world record catches, water safety, and try your hand at casting. We will spend time in the classroom and then participate in field trips for the second and third days of the program. Field trips will be taken to local canals, lakes and fishing ponds during camp. Locations may include the I & M Canal, Baker Lake, or Rotary Park. You will catch yourself loving this fun, family sport. Students should bring a fishing pole in good working condition, backpack, snack, sunscreen and drink to class. We will be using the IVCC shuttle to take field trips to local fishing locations. An additional waiver will be required prior to camp for field trip participation.
