Paint Your Pet

« back to classes page
Create a one-of-a-kind painting of your special pet. No drawing skills required! Your pet’s photo will be transformed into a simple, beginner-friendly illustration style design. At class, you will receive a color printout of your pet, along with a demonstration of a very easy tracing/transfer method to get the image onto the canvas. The instructor will provide guidance on matching and mixing paint colors, so you feel confident choosing your colors before you begin. Once your design is transferred, you will paint at your own pace using smooth shapes and easy techniques. You will need to submit a clear photo of your pet in advance of class.

What You Need to Submit (Important)
To prepare your custom pet portrait, please submit the following after booking your class to continuingeducation@ivcc.edu
Specify your name and the date of the class.

One Clear Photo of Your Pet

Please submit one photo only so we know exactly which image to use. Background will be removed and animal cropped to keep the chest and up.

Best photo tips:

• Pet facing forward or slightly angled
• Good lighting (natural light works best)
• Eyes clearly visible
• Pet fills most of the photo
• Taken at eye level

Please avoid:

• Blurry or dark photos
• Filters
• Busy backgrounds
• Multiple pets in one photo

Specify your name and the date of the class.

ONE PET PER CANVAS
