EKG Technician (In-Person)

This comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians. This course includes important practice and background information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography, and stress testing. Additionally, students will practice with EKG equipment and perform hands-on labs including an introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement, and other clinical practices.

Students will also have the option to complete and receive their CPR/BLS certification at no additional cost. 

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the following certification exams:

• National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Certified EKG Technician (CET) Exam The NWCA certification exam will be administered in person at the end of the course and is included in the cost of the program.
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified EKG Technician (CET) National Exam. Students may also choose to pursue the NHA certification exam. This certification requires an additional exam fee and must be scheduled independently by the student after completing the required 10 live EKGs. Students are eligible to pursue this certification after completing the program; however, it is recommended that students obtain additional experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting beforehand.
